According to research, 70% of households in Kenya are dependent on solid biomass fuel. This is in form of firewood and charcoal. These fuels cause a lot of indoor pollution, resulting in pulmonary diseases and at times demise of women or infant children who are the mostly exposed to the smoke pollution.

Another effect is massive deforestation which has increased the pace of desertification, contributing immensely to the climate change effects and erratic weather patterns being experienced in the country.

As a way to mitigate these effects, we came up with Cleanergy Briquettes, a source of renewable and sustainable cooking and heating fuel made from the biomass waste from our farmlands
